Mamma said that fresh juice is good for you. Mamma also probably said that Black and Decker is a good brand. What Mamma probably didn’t say is that the Black & Decker CJ525 CitrusMate is a great juicer. If you’re not juicing for grandma, grandpa and the whole clan at Thanksgiving, this is the perfect little juicing gadget to have. It’s handy for every-morning fresh juice because it’s fast and will give you just the right amount of juice for you and your family to get you going. It may be a bit manual compared to other juicers in the market, but considering that it’s designed to make small amounts of juice at one time, its no hassle at all.

So what do you get?

1. It can get you a litre of fresh juice nice and easy – the jug is sizeable.
2. You can adjust pulp control so that you get just as much pulp as you want in your juice. Some people like a little, some people like a lot, and some none at all. With this one, you get to choose.
3. It comes with different sized cones for different sized fruits – just change the cone to fit the size of the fruit you want to juice.
4. It doesn’t work with an on/off switch – all you need to do, once the fruit is on the cone, is apply pressure and you get pulping away.
5. Once done, all you need to do is take the pitcher and pour straight into a glass. And cleaning it is easy – just run it under the tap.
6. The motor and the jug are separate, making cleaning safe – there’s no chance you’ll mess the motor by getting water on it. Also, the power cable fits under the base, and you’re able to pull out just as much cable as you need. No more cables all over your kitchen counter that are liable to cause accidents.
7. For juice punches, it’s excellent. The jug has markings so you can tell how much of what fruit has gone in and move on to juice the next one.
8. The pulp that’s left behind is all dry – it has a strainer that strains all the pulp hard to make sure that all the juice is extracted.
9. It rotates both ways – getting out all the fruit while pulping it at the same time.
10. It’s got a small, handy design that won’t take up too much space in your kitchen. It also looks pretty neat, and will look nice sitting on your kitchen counter.

Any cons to this little juicer? Yes; you cannot throw it into the dishwasher as the parts will melt. Also, if for any reason you decide to pulp a large amount of fruit, your hand may get a bit sore from all the holding the fruit to put pressure on it. Other than that, it’s a perfect juicer for home use and for small groups.

Make sure to get one from a legitimate supplier – that way, you don’t get imitations made of cheap material that break easily. For under $50, it’s really the best in its range.
