Omega J8003 Nutrition Center Single-Gear Commerical Masticating Juicer Review

Rating: ★★★★★

There are some inventions that are simply awesome. They do great things that literally transform life. And then there are those that do many great things that transform life. In the kitchen, you’re talking about an Omega J8003 Nutrition Center Single-Gear Commerical Masticating Juicer. It will change your food preparation greatly because it does so, so much. Maybe it should not have been called a juicer at all because it can do so much more than juice. Here’s what it will do: it will juice your fruits and veggies, it will make your baby’s food, it will make you great tasting peanut butter (because its fresh), it will grind coffee beans, it will extrude pasta (spaghetti, linguine, nozzles), it will mince herbs and spices and even make flour. And guess what? It can make dog food too – just throw in whatever mix you want your dog to have and it comes out ready for pup to have a home-made feast for a change!

Let’s have a bit of a critical look at it:

  1. It comes with a 1/3 horsepower motor – the reason why it can take such a great variety of loads.
  2. It does all the loads at low speed – 80 rotations per minute. Now, you may be thinking that this is not such a good thing considering that some juicers come at 400 rotations per minute. But if you want to keep in all the nutrients in the juice, it’s essential that you don’t rotate it too fast. And also because you’re making it nice and slow, it comes out cooler and more refreshing.
  3. Another advantage of the slower speed is that you get no foaming – most juicers will give you your juice looking like a glass of beer with all that foam, but not this one.
  4. It has an in-built food reversal system. This means that any bits that get past without being chopped up and crushed will be reversed automatically and get a chance to get juiced – and it will do this until everything is juiced.
  5. It has pulp ejection for continuous juicing – you don’t have to stop every short while to get pulp out and continue juicing. And don’t throw out the pulp too – use it to make richer soups.
  6. Most juicers don’t do wheatgrass – this one does with no trouble at all.
  7. It’s easy to assemble and take apart. A good point if you want to keep it away after use.
  8. Its super efficient – the pulp from whatever you juice comes out dry. Just make sure your veggies go in fresh and crisp.
  9. You must be wondering how it does all the other things we mentioned that it can do – it’s all setting adjustment and control. Just change the settings to juice, grind or extrude.
  10. It’s built heavy and to last. Many users have compared it to a tank – it has that heavy feel that things had a long time ago when they were made to last forever.
  11. It’s easy to clean. Because it’s easy to take apart, cleaning it is a breeze. And it comes with its own cleaning brush. Don’t let things dry on it after use – always better and easier if you clean it straightaway.
  12. Its quiet – not whisper quiet, but not as loud as many other juicers. Most masticating juicers come with a din, so this one is definitely an improvement.

You must be thinking it can’t be all that, that there must be something you need to watch out for before you buy? Not much, except that the feeding tube is quite small. You’ll have to chop up everything in advance to get it through the tube. But to be fair, that’s made up for by all the other things that this juicer can do. Other than that, you have a 100% value juicer.

If you’re a kitchen-person, and love to make all kinds of things fresh in your kitchen, this one is a must-buy. They come at about $250, but its money well spent. Get yourself one – you’ll live to love it. And it comes with a 10 year warranty; good proof of quality.
