Omega J8005 Nutrition Center Single-Gear Commercial Masticating Juicer Review
Omega have revolutionized the way your kitchen works. They have a great new juicer – not quite sure that juicer is the name for it because it does so much more. If you love to work in the kitchen, this juicer is a must have – it will make it all that much more fun. It will do literally all your juicing, grinding and mincing, and guess what, it will extrude pasta too. Close in design to the Omega J8003, it comes with the same functions but you get it in stainless steel.
Why is it so special?
- The 1/3 horsepower motor is the highest as far as juicer motors go. It packs with so much power, the reason why it’s able to do a multitude of functions.
- Most juicers come with high RPM’s. This one is different. It does 80 rotations per minute. And what does that give you? It gives you foam free juice. It also gives you juice that’s cool to drink right away. High rotations tend to add a bit of temperature to your juice.
- It won’t clog – it has a built-in mechanism that reverses any bits that haven’t been juiced back into the system so that everything gets crushed. The result is a really smooth juice.
- Because of the low RPM’s it retains all the nutrients in your juice – your vitamins and minerals come out intact.
- It’s a quiet operator; you’d imagine that with all that it can do, it must make a lot of noise. After all, most juicers do. Not this one. It’s not hush hush quiet, but you don’t have to turn it off every time you want to say something.
- It highly efficient – the pulp comes out dry. Dry pulp means that all the juice is squeezed out and there’s no waste. And depending on what you’re juicing, you can use the pulp either for soups or feed it to the dog.
- Speaking of the dog, its great for making fresh dog food too – juts throw in whatever you want for pup’s dinner and he can have a fresh home-made meal just like everyone else.
- It’s a breeze to clean. It comes apart easily and it’s got its own special brush. A bit of a tip here – never let your juicer stand and dry out after use. It will be harder to clean. Get water onto it before any pieces get dry and stuck.
- Its rust proof – made of stainless steel parts, you’ll not get it rusting like many other juicers in the market do. And it’s compact and stable too – it has a great quality look and feel.
- It looks great on your counter. It doesn’t take too much space and because of its color, it blends in well with your other kitchen equipment.
What’s not to like? If you’re not into chopping and dicing, that’s the only thing. Because of a small feeder, it means that you have to pre-chop everything. But I’d trade that one in for all the other things that this juicer can do. And I didn’t talk about how you get to mince and grind – its all at the touch of a button. Simply adjust settings to whatever you want to do and you’re good to go.
A worthwhile buy, definitely a keeper. It comes in at a higher price than other juicers in the market but you can see why. It will be a $300 well spent.
